Atmel and NVIDIA Collaborate to Enable Large Format Touchscreens for Tablet PCs

Atmel announced it is collaborating with NVIDIA to bring high-performance, multi-touch, large-format touchscreen solutions to market. This reference design includes two award-winning devices, including the NVIDIA® Tegra™ 2 mobile super chip and Atmel maXTouch® mXT1386 solution, to power touchscreen up to 15 inches for smartphones, tablet PCs, mobile Internet devices and other applications.

Atmel Announces New Generation of maXTouch Solutions

Atmel announced the maXTouch™ E Series of single-chip capacitive touchscreen controllers for touchscreens from 2 to 12 inches. The mXT224E, mXT384E, mXT540E and mXT768E devices offer enhanced analog sensing with a third generation capacitive touch engine and advanced AVR® architecture optimized for capacitive sensing.

Bang and Olufsen selects Atmel AVR 32-bit solution

Bang and Olufsen and Atmel have announced their collaboration to provide an end-to-end audio platform for premium-quality audio playback. The result of this collaboration is an audio reference design that provides premium-quality sound combining the Atmel AVR UC3 32-bit microcontroller with the Bang & Olufsen ICEpower's MobileSound 3, a fully digital, low-power single chip stereo Class D speaker amplifier, headphone amplifier and audio digital signal processor.

Atmel Wireless Microcontroller update

Atmel has achieved ZigBee® Certified status for the Atmel Key Remote Controller based on the ZigBee Remote Control™ standard and the ATmega128RFA1 single-chip wireless device microcontroller. With this certification, With Atmel Key Remote Controller, users can now run ZigBee Remote Control software profile stack to gain secure and interoperable RF-based remote controls with two-way communication and no line-of-sight requirements.
