New Atmel Automotive Touchscreen Controller S-Family Featuring Excellent Noise Handling


True Single-Layer Shieldless Designs Reduce System Complexity, Lower Overall Cost and Provide Lower Power Consumption

Atmel® has further extended its portfolio of automotive-qualified maXTouch® touchscreen controllers with another two new family members. The mXT1188S and mXT1664S devices join the mXT224S, mXT336S, mXT540E, mXT768E, mXT143E, and mXT224E family members. All these touch devices are AEC-Q100-compliant and fully automotive qualified. Now, you can select from a variety of touchscreen and touch pad controllers to address screens between 2 inches and 14 inches in diameter.

All offering superior performance, multitouch support, faster response time, robust operation and lower power consumption. The new S-family devices also provide dedicated embedded functionalities such as gesture calculation and filter algorithms that meet current automotive design requirements.

With these devices, you can create touch-based automotive products that support the identification of up to 10 simultaneous touches touch size reporting, single- and dual-touch gesture calculation, communication of X/Y positions, gloved operation and the ability to eliminate unintended touches such as a resting hand on the screen or pad.
