ATA6823 is designed specifically for automotive applications that require high-power motors. It provides four igh-current gate driver outputs capable of driving a wide range of n-channel power MOSFETs in a full-bridge configuration. A fully integrated charge pump with external capacitors provides the gate voltage for the high-side output stages.

In order to facilitate the use of Atmel's versatile H-bridge motor driver ATA6823, a schematic for a typical application has been developed. Using the ATA6823 allows the usage of a low-drop reverse-voltage protection module because of ATA6823’s internal charge pump. If sufficient, using only a reverse protection diode is also possible.
