Host security chip that validates the response coming from the SHA-256 engine within an Atmel CryptoAuthentication™ client, even if that response includes the serial number of the client within the computation. The device takes both the challenge and response as inputs and returns a single Boolean indicating whether or not the response is valid. This prevents the host chip from being used to model a valid client. The device does not include a random number generator.
