The Atmel® maXTouch™ architecture set a new benchmark for capacitive touchscreens. With the new Atmel maXTouch E Series Atmel has raised the bar once more, by providing single chip touchscreen controllers that continue to exceed industry standards, in the toughest conditions.

The Atmel maXTouch mXT224E mutual capacitance touchscreen controller is suitable for use on a wide range of devices ranging from smartphones to tablets of up to 7" in diagonal. The highly responsive IC can interpret up to ten touches on the touchscreen whilst consuming a fraction of the current of the other solutions on the market. With advanced touch processing, the device can ignore unintentional touches caused by a gripping hand or resting palm, while correctly interpreting light touches. For high precision operation, the device also includes algorithms to identify and track a narrow stylus input.
