Atmel's Maker Faire demos will provide an interactive experience that will show you how easy our MCUs are to use. Our demos will showcase:
- Sight and touch: Modulate brightness of an LED panel using proximity and touch
- Sight: Make robotic spiders react with an Arduino Pro Mini microcontroller
Atmel Technology Experts
At the World Maker Faire, you’ll have plenty of opportunities for discussion with Atmel Technology Experts. Be sure to bring your toughest design questions, not to mention your sense of curiosity. Also on our agenda: a talk on the main event stage by Alf-Egil Bogen, one of the inventors of the AVR microcontroller.
At The Arduino Hour starting at 1 p.m. on Sept. 29, Bogen will present a talk on “Fueling Technology Leadership with Passion and Great Ideas.” In his talk, Bogen will focus on the creation of the megaAVR® devices, the hardware heart of the Arduino movement. He’ll share the stage with Arduino’s Massimo Banzi. Banzi, co-founder of the Arduino Project, will cover the latest developments in the Arduino open-source microcontroller.
Bring your questions — the session will end with an open Q&A.
Atmel Robotics Contest
Robotics Contest finalists will be in the Arduino Theater, demonstrating how well their robots can perform a specified set of tasks on our competition course. Aside from bragging rights, they'll be vying for three prizes: a laptop (1st place), a tablet computer (2nd place) and a scientific calculator (3rd place).
The contest is just one of many opportunities sponsored by the Atmel University Program. Educators and students interested in a chance to win passes to the Maker Faire should send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
