Highly-integrated General-purpose Microprocessors Optimized for Industrial Applications

The SAM9G devices build the foundation of the Atmel® ARM926-based embedded MPU line. Designed to complement the power of the ARM926 core, these flexible devices deliver a rich combination of peripherals in a highly integrated design. The high bandwidth architecture is based on a multi-layer bus matrix, multiple DMA channels and External Bus Interface to ensure internal and external data flows with minimum processor overhead. Integrated power management techniques preserve the power budget and reduce BOM cost.

To ease application development, evaluation boards are available, delivered with free packages for Android™, Microsoft® Windows® and Linux®. The SAM9G devices are fully supported by a worldwide ecosystem of industry-leading suppliers of development tools, operating systems, protocol stacks and applications.

  • Extensive Peripherals for Connectivity and User Interfaces — Peripheral sets may include FS/HS USB 2.0 Device and Host, 10/100 Ethernet, CAN, unique soft modem, SD/SDIO/MMC, LCD Controller, resistive touchscreen, camera and audio interfaces, timers, USART, SPI, SSC, TWI, 10-bit ADC, hardware cryptography.
  • High-performance Data Speedway — A high data bandwidth architecture with multi-layer bus matrix, multiple DMA channels and dual external bus interface on some devices.
  • Advanced Memory Support — On selected devices, LPDDR/DDR2 support ensures supply and cost efficiency, and MLC NAND Flash features up to 24-bit code correction. Additional memory support for SDRAM and NOR Flash, with boot from NAND Flash, SDCard, DataFlash® or serial DataFlash.
  • Evaluation Kit and Comprehensive Ecosystem — For rapid evaluation and code development, evaluation kits are available, delivered with free packages for Android, Linux and Microsoft Windows. Devices are supported by industry-leading third parties with a full range of development tools, RTOS, middleware and support services to minimize time to market.
