The Atmel® car infotainment portfolio includes the widely-used Atmel ANTARIS™ GPS chipset. The Atmel GPS chipset with its high-accuracy and AECQ-100 qualification is perfectly suited for various applications. Leading global car manufacturers, fleet management operators and telematics specialists rely on the Atmel GPS devices and value their robustness and reliability.
The ANTARIS GPS 4 chipset embeds an RF receiver and a baseband IC. The 16-channel architecture offers excellent tracking and positioning accuracy and fast dynamic position tracking. The ANTARIS 4-engine optionally features SuperSense™ technology - enabling navigation in challenging environments with weak GPS signal and no direct view to satellites.

- Technical support — To support design in, Atmel offers a full suite of program and system development tools supplied by our application team. Our reference design helps customers adopting our products.
- Flexible design choices — Atmel ANTARIS offers two basic GPS product options to meet different design needs: a multi-chip-module containg baseband and RF receiver in one BGA package for applications where space is a premium. Baseband and receiver can also be ordered separately the baseband either with a BGA or a QFN package and the eciver in a QFN package for easy handling and flexible design. To complete the chipset Atmel also offers the adequate LNA.
- High signal sensitivity — Atmel SuperSense signal tracking technology enables accurate GPS navigation in building interiors, deep urban canyons, covered roads, and other locations where systems has been previously been unable to effectively receive faint tracking signals.

The ANTARIS 4-engine also features SuperSense™-enabled indoor GPS reception for dashboard antennas, or assisted-GPS (A-GPS) reception. The devices also support U.S. WAAS and European EGNOS global positioning satellite systems.
