Decades of Experience, Leading Edge Designs
Industrial environments are increasingly advanced and connected. To deliver the communication features and intelligence required at the plant floor and beyond, you need solutions that deliver high performance but are light on power consumption, resist water, dust, moisture, and extreme temperatures, and support high-speed wired and wireless communication.
Atmel can help you design effective industrial control products with its unique selection of energy-saving lCs for AC and DC motor, temperature and illumination control applications that need load-current feedback and overload protection. We are a leader in the design and delivery of solutions for applications in office automation equipment, electric power tools, home appliances and consumer electronics.
Key Features
- Overload protection — Atmel phase control devices feature load-current detection and feedback and overload protection to ensure optimum run-up times and consistent, gentle start-ups each time supply voltage is switched on or after short interruptions of the voltage supply.
- Feature-rich design — Our devices include features that support sophisticated industrial control systems. These full-featured designs reduce the need for external components and save you significant development, integration and debug time, reducing your time to market.

Atmel phase control devices build in load-current detection and feedback and overload protection to ensure optimum run-up times and consistent, gentle start-ups each time supply voltage is switched on or after short interruptions of the voltage supply.
Built-in current synchronization ensures that alternator voltages and frequencies are identical and in phase to avoid fluctuations that can damage machines.

Programmable trigger windows |
Industrial sensors detect, position, or identify an object or rotating axis using a variety of technologies, such as inductive, magneto-resistive, capacitive, optical, pressure, and ultrasonic.
The U2100B timer can be used in two- and three-wire applications depending on the selected mode: Zero voltage switch mode operation for triac control, or static operation for relay control. It is used in three-wire systems, or in triac applications for two-wire systems as a power switch (the load in series to the switch), where the supply voltage for the control unit is gained from the remaining phase angle.
The multifunction U2102B timer IC with integrated phase control contains two sensor inputs and retriggerable and adjusting tracking time features that are useful for a wide range of applications.

Adjustable Ramp |
Atmel's zero voltage switch in bipolar technology controls resistive loads at mains by a triac in zero-crossing mode. The IC's ramp generator controls by period group control, and its full-wave logic ensures that full mains cycles are used for load switching for full-wave power control, temperature regulation and blinking switch applications.
