Name:  KMX61G Micro-Amp Magnetic Gyro

The KMX61G is the world’s first consumer level micro-amp magnetic gyro, providing a 9-axis solution from a 6-axis magnetometer-accelerometer device. This high-performance product is enhanced with Kionix’s proprietary sensor fusion software and auto-calibration algorithms to deliver highly accurate emulated gyro outputs. Currently KMX61G sensor fusion runs on 32-bit Atmel AVR UC3 and SAM D20 microcontrollers.

The KMX61G boasts extremely low current draw, requiring only 1 µA in standby and 450 µA (operating, both magnetometer and accelerometer).

The KMX61G is packaged in a 3x3x0.9mm LGA package and features 14-bit digital I2C outputs, a 512-byte FIFO (first in, first out) buffer with a watermarking capability, and user-selectable ODR (output data rate) from 0.781 Hz to 1.6 KHz. The accelerometer offers a user programmable full-scale range of ±2g/±4g/±8g. The magnetometer offers a total measurement range of ±1200 µT. These sensors can accept supply voltages between 1.8 and 3.3 V and digital communication voltages between 1.8 and 3.3 V.
