Tire Pressure Monitoring

Atmel® offers all components needed to design a direct measuring sensor TPMS system (TPMS sensor modules and car module base stations). The TPMS product portfolio includes UHF receiver and transmitter ICs as well as highly integrated microcontrollers. All TPMS devices are suited for operating temperatures of up to 125°C and provide outstandingly low current consumption as required by TPMS system manufacturers to guarantee a module life time of 10 years.

Atmel®'s standard TPMS system solution includes low-power smart RF microtransmitter ICs and UHF ASK/FSK receivers. The TPMS standard solution is completed by an AVR® automotive microcontroller and LIN System Basis Chip with LIN Transceiver. This solution offers a high-integration level with low system costs. Atmel's POD system includes a 125 kHz built-in channel for waking up sensor modules in defined duty cycles, thus extending the battery life time. Such systems remarkably increase the flexibility of wheel initialization when changing tires by reprogramming the memory. Modes are adjustable from the dashboard.
